Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often. Email us at ytyt8730@gmail.com if yours isn't answered here.
Is the Saju reading really free?
Yes, every part of the reading is free — chart, Wu Xing, Yong Shen, Da Yun, AI conversation, compatibility check. There is no signup, no paywall, and no premium tier. Operating costs are covered by ads.
Do I need to know my exact birth time?
It helps but is not required. If you select I don't know, the reading uses three pillars (year, month, day) and you still get about 70–75% of the full analysis. Day Master, Wu Xing, Yong Shen, and Da Yun are all calculated independent of the hour. What you lose is the precision of the inner-life and later-years portions.
Can I use my lunar calendar birth date?
Yes. Switch to Lunar in the calendar selector at the top of the form. Your date will be converted automatically using the Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute lunar-solar conversion algorithm. Leap months are handled correctly.
How accurate is the calculation?
SAJU uses the same calculation conventions used by traditional Korean Saju masters: Lichun-based year correction, solar-term month boundaries, hidden stem weighting (0.7 / 0.3 / 0.1), and both Yi-Bu and Tiao-Hou Yong Shen evaluation. The math matches what you would get from manual Manse-ryeok lookup. Where we make simplifications (e.g., approximate Da Yun start age) we note them.
Is the AI conversation grounded in my chart?
Yes. The AI (Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6) is given a structured summary of your actual chart — Day Master, Wu Xing distribution, Yong Shen, current Da Yun, current Se Yun — and is instructed to ground its responses in that context. It is not a generic horoscope generator. That said, AI is fallible and is best treated as a thinking partner, not an authority.
Will my birth data be saved?
No. We do not store your birth data after the reading is generated. AI conversation messages are sent to Anthropic to produce a response, but they are not associated with any personal identifier on our side. See the
Privacy Policy for full details.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The site is mobile-first. The reading layout is designed to be readable on any phone screen, and the cards open progressively so the page never overwhelms.
What is the difference between Saju and Bazi?
They are the same system. Saju (사주, 四柱) is the Korean name; Bazi (八字) is the Mandarin name; Suimeigaku (推命学) is the Japanese name. The calculations and interpretive principles are identical across Korea, China, and Japan. Vocabulary differences are mostly stylistic. We use "Saju" because this site has Korean roots.
Can I share my reading?
You can share the URL of the site (
whatsyoursaju.com/en/) or take a screenshot of your reading. We don't currently generate per-user shareable links — that would require storing your birth data, which we have decided not to do for privacy reasons.
How is this different from Western astrology apps?
Western astrology reads
planets and houses; Saju reads
stems and branches grounded in the East Asian sexagenary calendar. The two systems answer different questions and use different vocabulary. Western astrology has a richer language for psychological archetypes; Saju has a richer language for elemental balance and 10-year life cycles. Many people use both. See our
Saju vs Western Astrology guide for a side-by-side comparison.
Can I get a more detailed reading?
For now, the free reading is the only product. If you have a specific question about your chart, the AI conversation feature can go deeper than the static reading. For traditional one-on-one Saju consultation in Korea, we are not yet making referrals — but if there is demand we may add a directory in the future.
